Message from your Principal:

Student safety is our top priority at Hoover.  Please take your time at drop off and pick up. Be careful that you are driving slowly, not using your cell phone, and are watching for students and  parents crossing the parking lot.  Also, please only park and wait in your car on the curb next to the school. Thanks for your patience during these busy times of the day.

Great News!  Mr. Ruben Garza is our full time security agent .  We are happy to have assistance with our traffic patterns, and in helping our students feel safe. He is also great at helping students work through conflict!

ELOP- Extended Learning Opportunities After School

Currently, we have 185 students enrolled in after school ELOP programs.  We have a variety of classes offered to students.

One of our most popular classes is our early risers club.  Working parents can drop students off as early as 7am to participate in puzzles, crafts and fun engaging activities.  At 7:30 students go to breakfast and then are ready when the bell rings and never tardy.  This is a great opportunity so take advantage and sign your child up today.

Other after school classes include but are not limited to, art, robotics, study hass, gardening, lawn games, sports, cheer, guitar, legos, and cricut.

Thank you for supporting our uniform policy.  Students are doing a great job wearing their Hoover shirts.  Shirts can be purchased for $7 dollars or we can add our logo to a blue or white shirt that you provide for $1 dollar. Also students can earn free shirts through our PBIS store.

Our intervention specialists have been doing a great job this year with our "power hour."  Students receive small group instruction for one hour four days a week and attend either a science or robotics lab on Wednesdays.  Our iReady data is showing progress for Hoover students in Language Arts and Math.

We would love to have more volunteers in our school.  Please fill out the volunteer form in our office and we will start the process getting you cleared as a regular volunteer.

Breakfast/Lunch: All students continue to be eligible for free breakfast and lunch. Supper is also offered to students that are in ASES or ELOP.

Attendance: Attendance will be taken daily with your children, so it is important that they are punctual and attend class consistently. Please report your child absent by calling the school office. Be sure to tell the reason why they were absent. If visiting the doctor, please request a note to provide to the office.

Sincerely,

Karen Schibler, Principal Hoover Elementary
